Atlas BP8000 Baseplate Two-Post Lift – 8,000 lb Capacity
Description
The Atlas BP8000 2 Post Bottom Plate Car Lift delivers reliable performance and exceptional versatility, making it an ideal solution for a diverse range of vehicles including compact cars, SUVs, and light trucks, thanks to its robust 8,000 lb (approximately 3,629 kg) capacity. Its distinguishing bottom plate configuration makes it particularly well-suited for garages and workshops with height restrictions, as it eliminates overhead obstructions. This design provides unobstructed access to the vehicle’s underside, greatly enhancing efficiency and ease during various servicing and maintenance operations.
Constructed with durability and safety in mind, the BP8000 features a symmetrical arm design, allowing for balanced and secure lifting of vehicles. The lift is powered by dual hydraulic cylinders, ensuring smooth, consistent, and reliable operation. Operator security is paramount, which is why this model incorporates a dual-point safety lock system for multiple locking positions and automatic arm restraints that prevent arm movement once the vehicle is lifted. The lift’s high-strength steel construction and a resilient powder-coated finish contribute to its long-lasting performance, even in the most demanding shop environments.

Reviews
The BP8000 is a functional baseplate lift for low-ceiling applications. The 8,000 lb capacity handles passenger vehicles and light trucks. The dual hydraulic cylinders operate smoothly. The safety features work. Negatives include the floor rail obstacle, lower max lift height compared to overhead designs, and sparse installation documentation.
The BP8000 solves the ceiling height problem and that's its primary value. The 8,000 lb capacity works for standard vehicles. The hydraulics and safety features function properly. The ISO 9001 and CE certifications are real. However, at 1,800 lbs shipping weight installation requires help, and the floor rails are an ongoing inconvenience.

The BP8000 lifts vehicles safely in my low-ceiling garage. The dual hydraulic cylinders work well. The dual-point safety locks are reliable. The high-strength steel feels solid. But the baseplate creates floor obstructions, the 72-inch max lift height is limiting, and the paint had a few chips on arrival. Functional but imperfect.
